Unlike foreign SIM cards, using Irancell’s roaming services allows you to access banking services, make transactions and card-to-card transfers, receive banking SMS messages, top-up your SIM card online, purchase data or combo packages, and pay postpaid bills while traveling abroad.

Please note that when using Irancell roaming services in Iraq, the data used to purchase a package via the MyIrancell app or the Irancell website is free of charge.
Considering the high cost of standard roaming rates, it is recommended to use internet or combo packages to save on expenses.

These rates and packages can be activated until August 25, 2025, and can be used until the end of the package’s validity period. After returning to Iran, the remaining data on these packages will expire and cannot be used.

Important Tips While in Iraq
- It’s recommended to top up at least 100,000 Tomans on your prepaid SIM card before entering Iraq.
- If you encounter issues making calls during your trip, first ensure your SIM card has sufficient credit.
- Postpaid users are advised to increase their credit limit based on their expected usage.
Call Host
If you do not have enough credit in your SIM card to receive a call in Iraq, your friends and loved ones in Iran who have Irancell SIM cards can pay for your roaming calls; the IVR system will prompt the person getting the call. When using the call host service, the caller must pay the cost of the call for the person receiving the call (the person who is in Iraq), which is 30,000 Tomans, in addition to paying their own fee.

Correct Dialing Format to Call Iran from Iraq
- Add the country code 0098 before the number
- Remove the leading zero from the Iranian number

Notes:
- Turning on your mobile phone does not incur any charges.
- After returning to Iran, remaining data from your roaming packages will expire and cannot be used.
When roaming data is turned on, mobile apps will consume data at roaming rates. Make sure unnecessary apps are closed. To avoid unnecessary charges while in Iraq, make sure to disable automatic downloads of videos, photos, and voice messages in your messaging apps. Also, ensure that any unused apps are turned off.
